Innovation Spaces

Creativity can happen anywhere. We provide the spaces to spark their imagination.
Rippowam Cisqua School is a place where students are challenged daily to become creative, critical, and independent thinkers. The Imagination Space and Innovation Center are designed to engage students on a deeper level, so they better connect with the academic curriculum. The Innovation Center is the only one of its kind in Westchester County.

The Imagination Space

Early childhood and elementary students face weekly challenges that teach them how to think differently. Using academic play as the foundation, students enthusiastically take part in problem-solving and goal-setting exercises.

The Innovation Center

The Innovation Center gives middle school students a place to collaborate, experiment, and explore their creativity. Our hands-on approach gives students the opportunity to work on collaborative projects that they research, design, and build from raw materials.

List of 6 items.

  • 2,400 square foot light-filled space

The Innovation Center opens directly to an outdoor amphitheater through three sets of folding glass doors that open like an accordion up to 14 feet wide.
  • Flexible work zones

The perimeter of the main space has communal workbenches that are equipped with various hand tools. The center is set up for instruction and presentations with group tables that are adjustable in height.
  • Hand tools

All the power tools you would find in a wood shop, such as saws, drill press, routers, and lots of hand tools. These are great for teaching students to work with tools safely and build projects from raw materials.
  • Modern fabricating machinery

The Innovation Center is equipped with a CNC cutter, laser cutter, 3D printers, and vinyl cutter. These tools require designs generated on the computer so they make teaching students digital design more fun and rewarding.
  • Two additional workshops

There are two 310 square foot workshops separated from the main space by a glass wall. This is where computer-based or smaller group work can be done in a quieter setting.
  • Welding station

Similar to woodworking, welding allows students the opportunity to fabricate original designs from raw materials.
