Investing in an independent school education requires careful financial planning, but we realize that the cost of tuition may be beyond the reach of many families. To make RCS more accessible, we strive to help families manage costs by offering an all-inclusive education and robust tuition assistance program.

Last year, we awarded over three million dollars to 40% of students from diverse socio-economic backgrounds.

Removing financial barriers helps us live our mission to create independent thinkers, confident communicators, and engaged leaders. If you are interested in learning more about tuition assistance at RCS, please email admissions@rcsny.org.

List of 5 items.

  • All-Inclusive Tuition

RCS works hard to ensure the cost of tuition covers the needs and experiences that fuel our curriculum. To minimize expenses, the annual tuition includes:

    • Lunch and snacks
    • Textbooks and school supplies
    • Science labs and elective arts
    • Athletic uniforms and athletic equipment (as available)
    • Day and overnight field trips, including the Grade 9 trip abroad
    • Wellness and counseling services
    • Computer and iPad access
    • School uniform swap

  • Interest-Free Payment Plans

Flexible, interest-free payment plans are available to assist with family budgeting.

    • Single payment: Due July 1
    • Two payment plan: Due July 1 and January 1
    • Ten payment plan: Due monthly between May and March; there is a $50 enrollment fee.

Families select a payment plan for the school year when they submit their enrollment or re-enrollment contract.

  • Waivers

Waivers for the $50 application fee and $2,000 enrollment deposit are available for families applying for tuition assistance. For an application fee waiver, email admissions@rcsny.org for a personalized code.
  • Grants

All families with students in Junior PreKindergarten through Grade 9 are eligible for tuition assistance.

Last year, we awarded over $3 million to 40% of students from diverse socio-economic backgrounds. Tuition assistance grants are need-based and range from just a few thousand dollars to significantly more. Grants are awarded based on demonstrated need each year and do not have to be repaid.

All new applicants interested in tuition assistance should email admissions@rcsny.org for more information. The deadline for returning families is February 1 each year. If your financial situation significantly changes, RCS will work to accommodate your family's needs.
  • First Responder Program

In recognition of the countless selfless sacrifices and risks that First Responders take every day to better the lives of the people in the communities that they serve, we have established the First Responder Grant, valued at $10,000.

Grants for Kindergarten through Grade 9 are awarded to dependents of New York or Connecticut residents employed as law enforcement officers, full-time firefighters, state correction employees, and emergency medical technicians.

There is no special application for the First Responder Grant. You will automatically receive a $10,000 reduction in tuition each year for each enrolled child. Acceptance of the First Responder Grant does not eliminate a family from consideration for need-based assistance. You may also apply for additional tuition assistance.

    Thank you for your service!
