• Executive Committee

  The Parents Association Executive Committee serves as the primary liaison between the Parents and the Administration, meeting monthly with the Head of School and the Division Heads to share insights, views, and information.

• Volunteers

  Volunteerism is an integral part of our School and commitments, both large and small, help us to connect as a community and allow our children to see the value we place on their education. There are many ways for parents to get involved whether you have a few hours or a few days. Here is just a sample, but feel free to contact the Executive Committee to explore ways in which the PA can tap into your talents.
  
  

  GRADE REPRESENTATIVES

  Each grade has one Grade Rep who is responsible for keeping parents informed, coordinating grade wide events and communicating specific questions and concerns to the Parents Association and the Administration. Grade Reps serve a two-year term and also act as Class Parent for their child’s homeroom.

  
  

  CLASS PARENTS

  In PreK-Grade 6, Class Parents serve as a liaison between the teacher and parents and coordinates in-class activities that require parent involvement. The Class Parent is also responsible for ensuring that new families are welcomed and connected with the existing RCS community.

  
  

  COMMITTEE CHAIRS & MEMBERS

  Parent volunteers are critical to ensuring the smooth execution of Parents Association events. You can lead a committee or join an enthusiastic team of individuals working towards a common goal.

  
  

  AMBASSADORS

  Parents are needed from time to time to help with specific school initiatives. In the past, parents have served as grade liaisons for our fundraising initiatives, campus renovation ambassadors, and host families for admissions.

  
  

  SUPPORTERS (FANS)

  Come support our sports teams at home or away, attend the PA meetings and events, participate in our service learning program or sign up for Car Door Opening. Your presence is the MOST important part of building a strong community.

   

• Events & Activities

  The Parents Association organizes community-building events that provide opportunities for parents to meet other families, support children as learners, and give back to the school in meaningful ways.

  
  

  • PARENTS ASSOCIATION MEETINGS: The Parents Association hosts periodic meetings throughout the year during which parents meet for coffee and conversation to learn about upcoming school activities, new initiatives, and grade level programs. You can also connect with other parents and learn about volunteer opportunities or chat with faculty and administration who are often on hand to answer questions.

  
  

  • PARENT ASSOCIATION GRADE LEVEL SOCIALS: Grade level cocktail parties and family events are held each year to give parents an opportunity to connect outside the school grounds.   

  
  

  • HOLIDAY RAFFLE (DECEMBER): The Raffle is one of our biggest events of the year as it offers families the chance to win tickets to theatrical, sporting, and holiday events, as well as special prizes that take place in the classroom in support of the Teacher Appreciation Program.

  
  

  • BOOK FAIR (APRIL): A long standing tradiiton, the annual book fair is held with scheduled class time for students to explore their love of reading.

  
  

  • TEACHER APPRECIATION LUNCH (JUNE): A special luncheon is held each year to thank our entire faculty for their continued enthusiasm, dedication and hard work.

  
  

  In addition to these school-wide events, the Parents Association helps plan student events such as school dances, family outings, or ad-hoc activities. The PA also makes monetary contributions to the School for special projects which may include technology initiatives, speaker events, fundraising drives and more.
