C-SPAN Bus Visits RCS
October 31 – The C-SPAN Bus 14-month “50 Capitals Tour” ended this week in Bedford, New York – at our Upper Campus!
On Halloween, on board the high-tech, interactive bus, sixth through ninth graders were joined by New York State Senator Shelley Mayer and Assemblyman David Buchwald for a program on the legislative process.
“At Rippowam Cisqua School, our mission is to create independent thinkers, confident communicators, and engaged leaders. This includes teaching students the importance of civic responsibility and community involvement. It’s exciting for RCS to be the final stop on the C-SPAN Bus 50 State Tour, enabling students to expand their perspectives and engage in these topics through this multimedia, hands-on experience,” Head of School Colm MacMahon said.
Since 1993 a C-SPAN Bus has been traveling across the country visiting schools and students in all 50 states. This year marked the twenty-fifth anniversary of the program, and we were excited to be the final destination before the bus returned to Washington, D.C.
