Alexandra Fisher ’99
Alexandra Fisher ’99, an EMT, was on maternity leave with her second child when the coronavirus pandemic began. At home with two small children she found a way to help – with social media.
Two years ago, Ms. Fisher created a humor page on Instagram – a virtual support group for parents and caregivers. When the healthcare crisis hit, Ms. Fisher and some of the moms in her “humor community” got together to start Masks For Heroes, an organization that connects PPE donations (primarily masks) to healthcare workers on the front lines.
“As an EMT, this is something that is very close to my heart,” she says. “I haven’t worked as an EMT with the pandemic, as I currently have a newborn, so being a part of the Masks For Heroes effort is important to me.”
We’re so grateful to Alexandra Fisher and to all our alumni for their work in healthcare and as first responders, and for working together to provide much-needed PPE.
