Open House Tours Led by Student Ambassadors Leave Prospective Families in Awe

October 26 – The Admissions team welcomed families interested in JPK through Grade 8 for Open House Tours of RCS last Saturday and also on Thursday, October 17.
Parents and their children were eager to explore the campus while learning all about RCS programs and the community from our fabulous student tour guides: Ridgely Ghriskey ’22, Will Ghriskey ’20, Eoghan Glynn ’23, Annie Hallock ’21, Jonah Kass ’22, Caitlin Kaufmann ’22, Juliet Kaufmann ’20, and Blair Sontag ’24. They provided an insider perspective on everything from the classroom experience to extracurricular activities to what it is really like to be a RippKid. Prospective parents raved about how engaging our students are.

Director of Admissions Liz Hallock said, “I received tremendous feedback about our students from prospective families. Formalizing our Student Admissions Ambassador program was a win for us this year. It provides students with yet another meaningful opportunity to practice their public speaking and communication skills while helping us showcase the school in the best possible light. Our kids never fail to impress.”

Head of Upper Campus Matt Hall, Head of Lower Campus Erin Callaghan, and Head of School Colm MacMahon joined students on tours. Along the way, parents met RCS faculty Nicole Levy, Christy Glynn, Lisa Gershon, Leslie Thivierge, and Vincent Kwarula who were on hand to provide program overviews on Early Childhood; diversity, equity, and inclusion; wellness; and athletics. Coach Kwarula also gave impromptu mini-basketball lessons with Zen music playing in the background. The kids loved it and even some parents got involved!

PA Chair Lisa Kaufmann and RCS parent Sarah Geiger welcomed parents and talked with them one-on-one about the joys of being a part of the RCS community. The weather was beautiful. RCS student artwork was on display in Centennial Hall. The halls were bustling with current and prospective students. It could not have been a better day for a tour!
