Serving Northern Westchester Hospital

RCS delivered dinner to healthcare workers at Northern Westchester Hospital several afternoons last week. On Wednesday, RCS Director of Development Daphne Viders met Ellen Muentener, Director of Volunteer Services, along with Daryl Bates, Director of Patient Advocacy, at the NWH entryway with a special pizza delivery.

As a member of the Northwell system, the hospital is now receiving patients from Queens, Long Island, and other outlying areas. Staff members, who usually work eight-hour shifts, are now all working well over 12 hours each day. Oftentimes, these nurses and physicians on the frontlines don’t even come off the floors they are working on so as to not contaminate other shared spaces. Receiving food and hydration truly keeps them going.

The 50 pizza pies over both days came from the Katonah Pizza Station, a local business owned by RCS family Tatjana and David Darmanovic. They were most appreciative for the business and support saying, “We are honored to be able to help in some way at this time and I thank you for the business during these uncertain times.”
