Alum Chris Hanson '06

January 16 – When RCS squash coach Jen Sednauoi found out that alum and two-time defending U.S. champion Chris Hanson ’06 would be competing in the J.P. Morgan Tournament of Champions against World No. 3 Omar Mosaad, she not only planned to go watch the match – she also arranged to take members of Ripp’s squash team with her.
Chris, a Dartmouth graduate and World No. 63, lost to Mosaad in three close sets, but “it was a great and exciting match!” Coach Sednaoui said.

After our students watched the match at Grand Central Station’s glass squash court, Chris came out and greeted them and chatted.

“It truly was an awesome night!” Coach Sednaoui said. A special thanks to parents Ari Kandel, who helped organize the entire evening, and Beth Harvey and Peter Hallock, who helped Coach Sednaoui and Coach Bancroft chaperone the group of 18 students.

An Interview with Chris Hanson ’06 in 2012

When Chris was a senior at Dartmouth College, we published this article, where he talks about athletics at Ripp (“My athletic experience at RCS was incredible,” he said) and academic preparation for secondary school and college (“I excelled at St. Luke’s immediately, thanks to my schooling at RCS, which eventually led to my acceptance to Dartmouth College.”).
