At Rippowam Cisqua School, we are extremely fortunate to enjoy a culture of philanthropy, providing us with the vital financial resources that every independent school needs to thrive and grow. Generations of parents, trustees, alumni, teachers, grandparents, and friends have contributed to our School with a generosity of spirit that humbles us.
Last year, 92% of our parents contributed to the Annual Fund, securing the financial cornerstone of the School's annual operating budget. Nearly $750,000 was raised for the 2016-17 Annual Fund, helping the School maintain its strong, innovative programs. Grandparents, parents of alumni, alumni, and faculty and staff continue to support the Annual Fund each year, and their support serves as a powerful testament to the depth of connection the community feels for this wonderful school.
Support for the Centennial Campaign for Rippowam Cisqua was strong last year as well, with more than $4 million raised in gifts and multi-year pledges from the School community for our new Upper Campus. As fundraising efforts for our capital campaign continue through our Centennial year and beyond, we are grateful to all those who have helped to lead the way with their support to date.
Every member of the RCS Board of Trustees contributes generously of his or her time, expertise, and personal resources in support of our students, our faculty and staff, and the entire RCS community. The Board is a dedicated volunteer body that serves as the guardian of the School's mission. Their leadership has fueled tremendous progress in many areas including strategic planning, facilities improvements, and other initiatives that are critical to the long-term health of the School.
The RCS Alumni Association Board serves as a vibrant, active group of volunteers who have worked diligently to keep our alumni connected to each other and to the School in meaningful ways. Alumni and their families are invited back to campus for many activities and events, including class reunions and our Homecoming celebration.
We are indebted to all of our volunteers who donate that most valuable resource of all - time. Our community is strengthened and enhanced every day, and in every way, by their immeasurable efforts, and we thank them for their invaluable support of the School.
As we look beyond our Centennial year, we are grateful to those who came before us, helping to build the School's foundation, and we extend our gratitude to all those who continue to make RCS such a joyful, energetic, and supportive community.
