RCS Partners with KMA
RCS art teachers Sara Malekzadeh and Jade Vincent have partnered with the Katonah Museum of Art to virtually bring the current exhibit “Bisa Butler: Portraits” to our students on campus. Recently, KMA educators met with Kindergartners and fourth graders to discuss and view Bisa Butler’s quilts, which are focused on capturing African American identity and culture. It was fantastic to see students so engaged by the artist’s vibrant textile portraits – and also to watch them learning comfortably in one of our outdoor classrooms (in a tent), complete with a SmartBoard.
