Port Authority Police Officer Terry McKee

Terry McKee, father of Lylla McKee ’22, is a PAPD (Port Authority Police Officer) Police Lieutenant, Platoon Commander at the World Trade Center Command. He has 23 years of police experience, but has been assigned to the World Trade Center for the past four years. Lt. McKee’s capacity is focused mostly on counterterrorism, but since Covid-19 has emerged, he is also concerned with keeping New Yorkers safe and healthy.

Since the outbreak, police have been working very long hours to compensate for the high percentage of members who are out sick or quarantined. Lt. McKee feels that the current spirit in New York City is reminiscent of post 9/11, when citizens encouraged each other and celebrated first responders. He now wants us to recognize the bravery and sacrifice that is being made by the doctors and medical workers. New Yorkers can definitely support all frontline responders by simply following the guidelines, and staying home.
