GeoBee 2020

January 22 – Eighth grader Achylles Pons-Beltsyk has earned the title of RCS Geography Bee Champion this year with his impressive knowledge of geography, civilizations, cultures, and physical features. Congratulations to Achylles and to all the RCS students who accepted the challenge to test their geography knowledge.

Finalists competing on the Playhouse stage with Achylles were:

Edmund Rose (fourth grade)
Paige Eaves (sixth grade)
Cliff Lanier (sixth grade)
Joseph Muscari (sixth grade)
Juliet Kaufmann (ninth grade)

When Edmund Rose made it to the finals, the entire third and fourth grade community decided to travel to the Upper Campus to cheer him on…we had a packed Playhouse!

Next for our GeoBee champion is a proctored online qualifying test. The top 100 ranked students from New York will be invited to represent their school at a state GeoBee competition. State winners from across America will be invited to compete in the national championship.

Good luck, Achylles!
