Storyteller Jonathan Kruk

February 8 – As part of our Visiting Artists Series, Lower Campus students, faculty, staff, and attending parents were enchanted with award-winning master storyteller Jonathan Kruk.
Jonathan’s interactive style brought to life well-known favorites such as The Gingerbread Man and Jack and the Beanstalk, reset in Bedford and the surrounding area. His presentations were enriched by his deep knowledge of local history. Stories that informed and entertained us included The Guard Hill Kids, a tale of the Battle of Bedford from the perspective of local children, and The Buying of Bedford, a 1680s skit showing how English settlers purchased the Hopp Ground from native leader Chief Katonah.
