Light and Shadows

November 6 – In first grade science, lab-based learning emboldens students to learn through discovery as they investigate the physical world around them.
“The students explored the properties of light today," science teacher Sandy Jordan said, "and discovered how human beings create fun and useful things with it. After learning how different colors absorb and reflect light, students were introduced to using light through transparent, translucent, opaque, and reflective experiments. In addition, students explored how light casts shadows. By using flashlights, students learned how to make short, long, and almost invisible shadows.”
