There has never been a better time to come back to RCS! The start of our 100th academic year in September 2017 coupled with the completion of our Upper Campus renovation give us an unparalleled opportunity to celebrate both the past and future of Rippowam Cisqua School. We welcome the extended RCS community including alumni, parents, students, grandparents, past parents, trustees and past trustees, former and current faculty and staff to take part in this milestone event.

Throughout the coming year, Rippowam Cisqua School will celebrate a century of inspiring, educating, and empowering students. Join us as we honor the enduring impact of Rippowam Cisqua School and its mission. Please look over the Centennial pages on our website to learn more about the School's history, share your RCS stories, get the latest news about what's happening on campus today, and make plans to join in our upcoming Centennial Celebration activities.

Please visit our Centennial Sponsors Page for a complete list of the corporate and community partners who have helped make our Centennial Celebrations possible. We are grateful for their support.

Refreshments will be offered along Guard Hill Road and a light breakfast will be served in the Pole Barn once we arrive at the Lower Campus. If the children still have the energy, they can jump around in the RCS bounce house and play on the “big toy”!

The weekend will culminate in the Centennial Celebration Gala, a 100th birthday party for RCS parents, alumni*, teachers, former teachers, and the community! The Gala will kick off with music and cocktails in the newly renovated Upper Campus amphitheater and transition to the dining tent for a delicious sit-down dinner, complete with champagne, specialty cocktails, and a birthday cake. Bring your dancing shoes because the twelve-piece band is sure to have everyone out on the floor!

    *Alumni 21 years and older
  • Who can I expect to see at the Centennial Celebration Weekend?

Everyone!! This is a once in a lifetime gathering of the RCS community that will include former faculty and staff, alums, parents of alum, grandparents, current parents, current students, and current faculty and staff.
  • Where do I buy tickets to Centennial Gala?

Click HERE for tickets. And please check out the Sponsorship and Underwriting opportunities on the Centennial Gala Registration Page individual ticket and “sponsor level” table sales will help underwrite the cost of the entire weekend’s events, including hosting faculty and former faculty who will attend the event as guests of RCS. If possible, please consider supporting the RCS Centennial Celebration as a Centennial or Owl’s Perch Sponsor, Faculty or Former Faculty Ticket or Table Sponsor, Fuel the Fire Bonfire Sponsor, or Bucks For Trucks Food Truck Sponsor.
  • What should I wear to the Centennial Gala?

Wear your dancing shoes and cocktail attire -- whatever that means to you. Some men
will be wearing suits, some coat and tie. Some women will be in cocktail dresses, others in simpler suits or skirts.
  • Who should I sit with at the Centennial Gala?

Rally some friends and organize a table, or let the Centennial Gala Committee seat you at a table of your peers.
  • Will there be an Auction as part of the Centennial Celebration?

No. Our focus throughout the next year and a half will be on celebrating the incredible milestone that is our Centennial. The biennial benefit auction will return in the 2018-19 school year. Meanwhile, don't put your party shoes away, we are having a huge party on October 14 and we can't wait to see you all there.
  • How can I get involved in the Centennial?

There are many ways to get involved with the Centennial and we welcome all volunteers! We need help with everything from creating our Centennial Exhibit to event planning and decor, selling Centennial gear in our Pop-Up Store, selling ads for our Centennial Journal, handing out refreshments during the Centennial Walk to Cisqua, and so much more. Click HERE to see a list of volunteer opportunities or email centennial@rcsny.org and let us know what you might be interested in.
  • Why choose an owl as the symbol of the RCS Centennial?

The owl dates back to the earliest days of the Rippowam School. Though inspired by drawings of our earliest school seal, today’s owl bears little resemblance to what many RCS alums referred to as “the grumpy old owl” who graced everything from yearbook covers to admissions materials, to our original school flag.
