Our teachers have two goals: your child’s happiness and ensuring their success.
Rippowam Cisqua School’s experienced and talented educators actively promote intellectual curiosity in students while helping them rise to each challenge. RCS faculty members are dedicated to preparing every child to thrive and grow in a variety of diverse environments, whether it be in the classroom, on the field, on the stage, or beyond. With a 6:1 student-teacher ratio, teachers have the unique opportunity to connect one-on-one with students, tap into their interests, and build strong bonds with each child.

We have 82 teachers, teaching assistants, and learning specialists with expertise in PreKindergarten through Grade 9 education. Over 78% of our faculty members have advanced degrees, and as lifelong learners, they continue to further their education through a variety of professional development opportunities offered throughout the year.

Faculty Spotlight

Vincent Kwarula is the Athletics Director and Boys Varsity Soccer coach. At RCS, Vincent is responsible for nurturing student-athletes and building a robust health and fitness program that teaches students’ teamwork, dedication, and good sportsmanship. These are qualities that Vincent has practiced for the past twenty years as a player and coach on the college, high school, and youth club level.

Vincent has many accolades to his name. He played in two World Cup games on the Kenya National team, where he also served as Captain. He won two NAIA Championships and was nominated for the 1999 All-American team while attending Lindsey Wilson College in Kentucky. He was selected the Defensive Player of the Year for the Northeast Division while playing Div II and earning his bachelor’s degree at Southern Connecticut State University. Vincent continued his education at Manhattanville College where he earned his Masters in Teaching. Off the soccer field, Vincent is President of the Kwarula Society for Kenya Education (KSKE). KSKE was founded to advance children’s education and provide access to clean water and electricity. Vincent’s professional experience, long-standing reputation in the community, and genuine ability to connect with students helps to develop confident and engaged athletes willing to go the distance for RCS.

Miles Cameron is the Director of Innovation and the co-founder of the Creativity Cohort at Rippowam Cisqua School. Miles earned his B.A. in fine arts from Middlebury College. Prior to RCS, he worked as a teacher in the art department at Riverdale Country School where he proposed and implemented various programs such as Maker Club, 3D by Design class, and Boatbuilding class. Miles has lifelong ties to independent school as an alumni, teacher, and parent. He believes strongly in the need to integrate creative thinking and innovation school-wide. Miles works to provide support to faculty and students in developing and implementing new, innovative learning opportunities that extend beyond content mastery. His goal for the Innovation Center at RCS is to give students a space to explore their ideas through an interdisciplinary and hands-on approach.
